This Privacy Policy explains how Cebu Jimny Community ("we", "us", "the community") collects, uses, stores, and protects the personal information of visitors, event registrants, and membership applicants. By using our website, registering for events, or submitting a membership application, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Membership applications: full name, Facebook name, contact number, birthday, address, work/business, blood type, emergency contact details, and vehicle information (Jimny model, color, plate number).
  • Event registrations: name, contact number, optional email, and any message you include.
  • Technical data: your IP address and the time of submission, used only for security rate-limiting and abuse prevention.

You are never required to provide more information than the form asks for. Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are needed to process your request.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To review and process membership applications.
  • To communicate about events, rides, and community activities you've joined or registered for.
  • To coordinate safety during rides (e.g., emergency contacts, blood type, vehicle details).
  • To maintain community membership records.
  • To protect the site from abuse (rate limiting, spam prevention).

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties — ever.

4. Legal Basis & Consent

We process your personal information on the basis of explicit consent. Before submitting a membership application, you are asked to check a consent box confirming that you understand what information is collected and why. The timestamp of your consent is recorded with your application as proof of consent.

You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us (see Section 9). Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

5. Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described above:

Membership applications & member records While the membership is active, plus a reasonable period after you leave or are removed, so we can respond to any questions.
Event registrations Up to 12 months after the event, for attendance and safety records.
Rate-limiting / abuse logs (IP addresses) Automatically purged after 24 hours.
Pending or rejected applications Up to 6 months, after which they are deleted.

You may request earlier deletion of your personal data at any time (see Section 8).

6. Who We Share Information With

Your information is accessible only to authorized community admins who process applications and organize events. We do not share your personal information with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party.

7. How We Protect Your Data

  • All traffic is served over HTTPS (encrypted in transit).
  • Admin access is protected by strong password hashing, rate-limited logins, and session controls.
  • Rate limiting and abuse protections are in place on public forms.
  • Only trained, authorized admins can view member data, and access is limited to what's needed.

8. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Delete your personal information ("right to be forgotten").
  • Withdraw consent to future processing at any time.
  • Complain to a supervisory authority if you believe your rights were not respected.
